Music

May 29th, 2008

One of the loves of my life is music. I love to have it wherever I am. Along came the mp3 player and it made it so much easier. Smaller, easier to use, and you didn’t have to carry around a bulky pack of cds. The only problem is taking my whole collection with me. Sure most of the time a 4GB ipod nano will be fine, but what if you want access to your whole collection? An 80GB ipod might sound like the solution, but no, that won’t hold my whole collection. Now will I ever really need more than 80GB of music at any one time? Probably not. But I can remember the days when a computer would never need more than 16mb of ram.

So what I’ve done is set up Jinzora on this pc to stream my music to me. I can access it from any computer with an internet connection, and it’s my whole collection. Works like a bloody charm. I was originally worried about the quality but it’s top notch. I finally got a chance to check it out off of my own network and on a different connection. Very happy.

Next project, converting the desktop from Windows to Linux. Hopefully I can tackle that in the next few weeks or so.

Thank Goodness for a Day Off

Whew this week has been brutal so far.  At least I’ve been able to spend the morning relaxing while listening to some music.  The Slip if you are interested.  Check it out, it’s free and worth a listen.  Just bought the Ghosts I-IV from them.  I know the album was suppose to be “Pay how much you feel” type of a thing.  But I paid for the download without checking it out.  I don’t know if the music is good, but I like the business model, and where NiN is going with it.  It is a sad state of affairs when I’m looking for music based on the business model.  I will say I think they’re on to something.  They don’t need record companies anymore, all they need are tubes connected to the neterwebs.

I’m not getting on a soap box right now.  I’m feeling relaxed and happy.  Time to grab some lunch and head out to buy some Ruination.

Hooray!

What does this make me?

If I go to a bar and sip beer while watching drunk younger ladies play volleyball, what does that make me? Does it make me a creepy old man? Or does it make me this guy?

I say it makes me awesome!

Hooray for the Five Second Rule!

Today was a good day.

I had a dream last night. Not something I normally do. Well, I mean I know I dream some nights….I do make it to rem on occasion. But I remembered this one. Let me tell you, it was worth remembering too. It involved me, my girlfriend, and a game called “Find the Peanut Butter Cup.”  Needless to say.  I kick ass at that game.  I’m like a cross between Superman and Iron Man when it comes to finding the peanut butter cup.

Speaking of, I did get to see Iron Man this weekend.  Awesome.  Real fucking Awesome.  Congrats have to go out to Marvel for their first production, it was a great showing.  You could say it was “Money.”  It also gave a hint towards something even more awesomery.  If you haven’t seen it yet and don’t like on the tubeternets, you should find it to be a nice surprise too.

As an added bonus they had a new teaser for The Dark Knight.  God I want that movie to be good so hard.  I mean like so hard I have to spend some time with it in a little locked room.  I think I had something else to say, but I’m gonna go watch the batman trailer again.

Who Needs Sleep

May 3rd, 2008

Gah.  Gah I say good sir!  I need to go to sleep, but I’m not tired and I have things to do.  But I have to go to sleep.  So gah to you with your fancy sauces and frilly shirts with thirty percent more trendiness.  You know I watched Juno again.  Not so good the second time around.  Especially after reading the ten minute version.

There aren’t enough hours in the day.  I never feel like I have the time to get everything that needs to be done to be done.  But wait, you say I watched a movie, and that’s not very productive.  True, but then again I was working on a website while I watched it.  That’s called multi-tasking.  Oh snap I win!

At least I did get some things done tonight.  I’d list them all here so I can prove my productiveness, but that would be just sort of childish, and you really don’t care what I did(HAHA!)  But in honesty I added the lolzcat application to my facebook profile.  Your move Trebek.
